Goals

I am linking up for the Five Minute Friday. The FMF is hosted by Kate Motaung over at our Five Minute Friday website. This week’s word prompt is “goal.” We would love to have you join us.

A mom, a teacher, a writer, a youth director….These are all things I wanted to be when I was younger. As little children, we all strive for goals that we want to fulfill when we are older.

These goals often change and shift. But there’s always one constant. God is with us. God knows who and whose we are. God loves us for we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

There are times I wish God would give us traffic signs so we knew where we were headed. I cant help but think of football and how the players have goals especially the kickers.

A straight shot through the uprights. GOAL!! I truly believe God gives us each unique skills and abilities. Skills that we are to use.

So today, I claim that I am a writer, a daughter, a sister, a friend and so much more? Who are you? What goals do you have?

  1. Now there’s just one goal I seek,
    and that is to survive.
    I have no time for being meek,
    just time to stay alive.
    Cancer’s go me by the throat,
    and yes, that is quite literal.
    but if it thinks my dying vote
    is in, it’s quite delusional.
    I will fight this from the west
    unto the flaming east.
    And we will see who’s bloody best;
    it will not be the Beast.
    Bring it, legions of fiery Hell;
    and you will hear my Rebel Yell.

  2. Love this! Who am I? I’m His, first of all… and then come the ‘titles’ of Wife, Mama, Mimi, Daughter, Sister, Friend… and next would be Writer, Artist, Prayer, Speaker, Podcaster, Encourager, Photographer, Beach-Lover, Joy Seeker, and Releaser of the Kingdom! xoxo

    Goals? Well… you know… writing, illustrating, being healthy and active, loving whoever is in front of me. Also –travel. (Can that be a goal? LOL?!)

  3. Goals-they have the potential to bring peace through structure but also chaos as they overwhelm. In the midst, listening to God’s voice speak for clarity is the only way to navigate toward them. Like you, I am thankful for that constant.
