A Spectacular Week at the Mothership with my Posse’

Last week was a fabulous week. In fact, it’s hard to get back to the grindstone but Im managing to get things done! Easter Sunday, I woke up at 5:30 and got ready for the 6:30 am sunrise service at church. I was at the church for the three services and left Dilworth after filling gas at about 12:30 pm. The weather was actually pretty decent and I was in DBQ by 9:05 pm. I apparently didn’t communicate with my friend Carrie very well so she was not there. I was able to find some good friends who took me in for the night. It was great to catch up with them since I spent many days at their house during my last year of seminary helping E with her daycare etc. Thanks again for taking me in for the night E,D, L, and L! It was greatly appreciated! C came back to the Mothership on Monday so Monday night we went out for supper. Tuesday my reunion began. It was super great to see all my seminary classmates. There were a few who couldnt make it and were greatly missed. We did have a good turn-out though. Tuesday after chapel I finally got to meet a student whos blog I read and who reads my blog. It was fun to get to know her (and you know who you are!) Tuesday was spent catching up with each other about life since graduating etc. That night a bunch of us went out for supper at a great little place in DBQ. Then we had beer and theology with one of our professors who holds a weekly beer and theology to this day for seminary students. Wednesday was another busy day. Wed night we had a banquet and it was just fun to catch up. That night I got to hang out with some dear seminary friends including my seminary neighbor D, a seminary classmate N and many other seminary friends! First we went and had margaritas together. Then we decided to go sing karaoke! It was so great to be with these friends who I have missed soooo dearly and greatly! Thursday we said our goodbyes as the class left but I stuck around. Thursday evening was just spent with C as we watched tv and just chilled’ Friday C, and I and another friend of ours BAI went to Galena to the winery. We tasted wine and just had a blast. Then we had supper. Friday night C and I met up with JG and had supper. That night we just watched movies and relaxed. Sat I left DBQ to head back to MN. I made a few stops along the way to catch up with some friends. Even though they were quick stops, they were totally worth it! It was so fun to just relax and have a little vacation from job.Today Im back to the grindstone reminiscing about the absolute awesomeness of last week! I cant even begin to tell my friends how much I truly miss them and am so blessed to have them in my life! Thank you Lord for a spendiforous week! Thank you for such amazing friends!

P.S. Dont have too much fun without me my friends! LOL!!!!

The Stars Are Aligned

I was just thinking about the song “Worlds Apart” by Jars of Clay. In the song (that is if Im remembering correctly), it talks about worlds colliding as well. Its funny how lately it seems like some of my worlds have collided and how awesome that has been! When I was at seminary, I spent a lot of my senior year hanging out with this year’s seniors because my classmates were all on internship. I made a lot of really great friendships that year and am super excited to go back in a few weeks for my retread! This year a friend of mine who worked with me at camp decided to go to the Mothership. The other day she posted pics of her and another one of my friends. It was such a surreal moment for me and Im not sure why. I mean I know they all live on the same campus etc but it was kind of strange to see them in a pic without me! But it is super exciting that they too have been blessed with each other’s friendships. They both have been such gifts in my life. But that is only one of the examples, one of my dear friends who has been in Japan teaching English for the last couple of years returns back to the States on March 14th. The funny thing is I just found out that another friend has decided to apply and from her description, it sounds like it might be the same program H has been doing in Japan for the last couple years. Crazy how that happens huh?!?! It absolutely puts a smile on my face to see parts of my world collide! In a lot of ways, its like the stars of aligned and these things are suppose to happen! WOOO HOOO!
