I can’t believe this is my 215 post crazy! I’m so excited. Since moving to my new call, I’ve been working out at a big name work-out center for women (I think you know which one I’m talking about). Well in a month, I’ve lost 4 1/2 lbs. I definetely cant complain about that. Hopefully I can keep up the success! And in other news, I think I need me a Mothership reunion soon! I miss my friends from there so much! But you already know that, I seem to post about that quite often.

Another Monday Friday Five!
I have spent the week at Summer School studying the Gospel and Western culture, we have looked at art, literature, music, film and popular culture in their myriad expressions. With that in mind I bring you the cultural Friday 5.
Name a
1. Book—“The Horizontal World: Growing up Wild in the Middle of Nowhere” Its great…about growing up in ND. I am really enjoying it!
2. Piece of music—-“Love Song for a Savior” by Jars of Clay
3. Work of art—The Last Supper
4. Film—Rent
5. Unusual engagement with popular culture—Im not sure what the author means by this question but for me…its probably that Im addicted to Reality tv shows. I think I watch these shows because they are so ridiculous and make me laugh. I also love writing poetry because for me it is a form of prayer. I also enjoy listening to other peoples poetry as well.
Bonus: Is engagement essential to your Christian faith, how and why? If you mean engagement with other people, absolutely. Its what brings balance to my life and helps me stay sane. It also helps me stay grounded in who I am as a baptized Child of God!
Time for a Starbucks Run!
White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino
One of a kind and forward looking, you’re the first to introduce a wacky new trend to your friends. And even if your ideas seem weird, they get adopted pretty quickly.
A Good Book, A Cup of Friendship, and A Teaspoon of Goodbyes
I finally finished it! Thats right…I finally finished the latest Harry Potter book. I never thought I would be a Harry fan but my dear friend from seminary got me hooked and Im so glad she did. I have to agree I was sad to see some of my fave characters killed. That was weird. I dont want to say too much though in case some people haven’t read it.
This weekend was a great weekend. I met up with a dear friend who is like the brother I never had. It’s been probably 4+ years since we’ve seen each other and it just happens that we ended up in the same area. I tell I am starting to realize how much I’ve missed him. We emailed, sent cards, etc but there is just something about spending time with some one who truly accepts me for me! I know we both will be busy with work/school but it’s good to know that if I need a good friend to listen, this individual will totally be there for me in a heartbeat. In a lot of ways, our friendship reminds me so much of my closest friends from seminary. I wish those friends lived closer!
Speaking of seminary, my friend Stumbling just posted on his blog about having to say goodbye and how hard it is. He is absolutely right. Saying goodbye is absolutely the most difficult thing to do. You make such great friends. You get attached and then you say goodbye. It is so hard! I too like Stumbling couldn’t distance myself from others because I like meeting new people, making friends, etc so I too had to say goodbye many times. I understand how Stumbling is feeling about having to say goodbye. It never gets easier. However it is nice to know that wherever I go, I probably have friends from seminary near by. I miss you all dearly!
Feeling Blessed!
I kind of feel like Ive fallen off the blogging face of the Earth. Sorry everyone. Im finally settled in my apt and things here at the new church are going splendidly. They have been soooo good to me and have made me feel so welcome. What a blessing this place is! The last few weeks have been full of traveling. Pastor and I went to a Milestone Ministry conference the first days of Aug. I got to have breakfast with a Diaconal friend which was awesome. For those I didnt call, sorry but I dont have your cell number…so in some ways I think its your own fault that I wasnt able to contact you…LOL….just kidding Stumbling, You’re the first on my list next time I promise. After that, I worked and got settled. Then last weekend, I went to some camp friends wedding. It was so great to see old friends. Some of them I probably haven’t seen in three years or so. Crazy huh! I’m so glad I went. Life here is fabulous. I love being near friends and knowing I always have someone to hang out with. On Fri night I spent time with two couple friends from seminary. The one couples two little girls are absolutely adorable and it was good to catch up with them. I am looking forward to getting to do more of that. Other than that, not much is happening. However Im starting to wonder what this next year holds….maybe Ill find Mr. Right…who knows but I did catch the bouquet at the wedding. Scary huh! Well I should get back to work. Im in the office myself today and have gotten a few things done but really should try and get more stuff done. Hope you are all staying cool. I am hoping to be able to blog more steadily now. Sorry for not posting for awhile. Well Im off to lunch!
Another Blog-iversary
Well my faithful readers…I can hardy believe it. In the midst of my moving and starting a new call, I completely missed my two year anniversary of this blog. So I guess Happy Anniversary to my blog! Have a great day everyone!
Life is Good
First off today my prayers are with the people of Minneapolis/St Paul that have been affected by the bridge tragedy. Secondly, I am in my new office. Life is good. I have a new apt and am finally feeling settled. Ill tell you all once I get my computer going at home. And to close, hope those of you taking Summer Greek arent feeling too overwhelmed and too Greek…LOL! Enjoy your day. God bless!
