I am linking up for the Five Minute Friday. The FMF is hosted by Kate Motaung over at our Five Minute Friday website. Today’s word prompt is “still.” We would love to have you join us.
Mary and Joseph travel to Bethlehem.
No room for them in the inn.
In the stillness of the night
Surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes
Mary births her son.
His cries pierce the silence
And awaken a deaf world.
Shepherds hear the news.
Three wise men come
Bearing gifts
Of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
A newborn king
Emmanuel
God with us
I wonder what it would’ve been like to have been there.
Stars twinkling in the sky
It must have been so still.
Until his cries
Alerted the world
A newborn king
For all.
Come, oh come, Emmanuel!
I like to think that the world held its breath in anticipation.
Me too!
oh, what a quietly written poem. So glad I stopped in. 🙂
Thank You!
This was a lovely read. It is so true – in the stillness burst Life, giving life to us all. Blessings!
Thanks! Blessings to you too.
I can picture you and Luna sitting in the stillness last night writing this. You were probably sipping on some decaf tea brewed in your new beautiful kitchen and being still. By the way, Kate said STILL in November 2014 also.
🙂 That makes me smile. And you arent too far off with your description.
Love your poem. Hugs!
Thank You!!
I love how you bring the story to life!

Rejoice, rejoice, Immanuel shall come to thee O Israel. I needed this reminder that God is with us in every season and circumstance in our lives. -Jolene
