Im linking up for the Five Minute Friday. Today’s prompt is “Fake.” Write for five minutes; unedited.
It wasn’t a fake out last week. I really am back. I’ve missed so many of you who have become such dear friends to me here in this place. But let’s move onto what I’m really here to write about this week.
Have you ever made friends that you just clicked with and you wondered why God brought them into your life? I’ve been so blessed and then I’ve had friendships that have just ended. I’ve often found myself questioning why? But then I’m reminded of the quote: “Friends come into our lives for a reason, a season or a lifetime.” Remembering these words I’ve learned to be grateful for those friends who’ve come my way.
I’m not saying it’s easy because it’s not. Tears have been shed as I’ve grieved some of these friendships. But I truly believe those friends that are meant for forever are the real ones sent by the one true God. That’s a promise that I can cling to.
I’ve grieved lost friendships too, many of them, but very few were fake – they were just friends for a season, as you’ve reminded me. I’m so grateful for the true forever friends that God has been gracious to give me. Visiting from FMF#7
Hi Kym! I am thankful for those friendships too!
A lot of people came and went,
and most friends are now gone.
They started with the best intent,
but then they just moved on.
I really truly do not know,
and think that it was me.
Do I not have love to show,
love that they could see?
Or am I something of a bore,
even though I have a heart,
able to give nothing more
than the playing of a part
that in the end cannot keep pace
in modern life’s unending race?
Hi friend! I have missed you!
Sorry it’s taken me so long to get here but I am glad to see you back at FMF! I agree, it is hard when friendships are just for a season. It can be hard to let go, but I’m sure God brings people into our lives to bless us whether that is for a short time or for life.
It’s ok. I am glad to be back. You are right. Sometimes for a short time and other times for a life time.
