I am linking up for the Five Minute Friday. The FMF is hosted by Kate Motaung over at our Five Minute Friday website. Today’s word prompt is “agree.” We would love to have you join us.
Jesus sat around the table the night before his crucifixion and death. Jesus washed their feet. He broke bread with all of them. He even sat with Judas and Peter. Judas would betray him. Peter would deny him.
The world is a place where we disagree sometimes with one another. God calls us to agree to disagree. To put aside our disagreements and simply listen to one another. For in listening we might learn and grow to understand the other side of an argument.Β In opening my heart, mind and soul, I’ve been molded into a woman who continually wants to learn from those that are different than her; who disagree with her.
The beautiful tapestry of the body of Christ is that we are all unique. The world would be a pretty boring place if we all looked and sounded and agreed the same. In our individuality, God simply calls us to put aside our differences; to simply love one another.
I really struggle sometimes to agree to disagree in the race to be right. Thank you for such a timely reminder! Dawn π
You’re welcome!
I agree! In fact I made a very similar point in my post today! π
Yes you did!
So much profound in such a brief and poignant message. Well said!
Thanks!
Yes and Amen!
Thanks friend! xoxo
Oh dear Lord, open my heart more to hear the message behind the disagreement, the heart cried beneath. Your post led me to think about my family. Thank you, Tara.
Oh Julie, wow! I hope it blesses you and your family. You are so welcome!
Judas and Peter!!! Whoa…
Whoa is right!
This is perfect! You found such great words to challenge us what we’re called to do. Thank you!
Thanks and you’re welcome!
Love this sentence – The beautiful tapestry of the body of Christ is that we are all unique. It is so true.
That is one of my fave lines too!
So true, Tara. Love covers all! Blessings to you! xo
Thanks! Love does indeed cover all! xoxo
“Love one another.” The simplest command and yet the hardest. Thankfully, the Spirit empowers us to live it out!
Indeed the simplest but also the hardest! Yes the Spirit does indeed empower us to live it out!
