Incomplete

I am linking up for the Five Minute Friday. The FMF is hosted by Kate Motaung over at our Five Minute Friday website. Today’s word prompt is “complete” We’d love to have you join us.

Final
Complete
Death

A daughter
Recently engaged
Now won’t be able
To walk down the aisle
With her dad.

Incomplete.

Young grandchildren
Who were so well loved
By this man
Now only to see pictures
And get to know him
Through pictures and stories.

Incomplete.

A true love
That was the love
I modeled all
My relationships after,
Still waiting for
My Mr Right.

Incomplete

Words left unsaid

Incomplete

Death
So final
Leaving things so incomplete
Yet death itself
Complete,
Finished.

Until we meet again

  1. This life is so heartbreaking and incomplete at times. So grateful for the hope we have of eternity but the pain of this life is still very real. Thanks for expressing that so well here.

  2. I’m heartbroken for you. I just read another essay on the same topic using the word complete. I pray peace for your heart. Your poem is so beautifully expressed.

  3. This is heartbreaking and yet so beautiful. Thank you so much for writing from the bleeding, the raw emotions…may this help you process, wait, grieve, heal. Lots of love!

P.S. I discovered that we celebrate our birthday on the same day. So glad to share this day with you! xx

  4. Tara, you and all those who mourn along with you have been on my mind and in my prayers. It’s not fair and it’s not right. The part inside of us that knows we were made to be in union with God knows that death is not at all how it’s supposed to be. May He comfort you today.
