Fog

I am linking up for Five Minute Friday. The FMF is hosted by Kate Motaung on her blog Heading Home. Today’s prompt is “Future.” I love spending time with this crew, but life has been crazy and I’ve missed our Thursday night Twitter Parties. I’ll be back soon friends! Check out FMF’s new home at http://fiveminutefriday.com

The morning light is overshadowed by the fog rolling in. The fog leaves one searching for clarity; trying to see a clear sky beyond the fog, Fog always reminds me of how often we find ourselves searching in this world.

These days I find myself in the midst of fog; searching to find clarity and to see clearness in what my future will hold. I have often described these days of uncertainty as a vision of me standing on the Emmaus Road waiting for my eyes to be opened.

I have been here before; wondering what is next. But this time feels a little different. This time I find myself overcome by the fog all around me. I am searching even deeper to see beyond the fog; to know what is next.

And even in the midst of the fog, I am doing my best to trust in my future; to trust in what God has in store for me. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, soul and mind.” In trusting in my future, in trusting in your future, God knows what is in store. God has big plans for all of us. Sometimes those plans are clear and other times they are not. Yet God still calls us to trusts in God.

I am still standing in the midst of the fog, but today, I think I might see a little light peaking through the fog. Perhaps someday soon, the fog will clear and my future will be revealed. Thanks be to God

  1. I hear you, Tara. Sometimes circumstances make it very hard to trust, but then I realize that trusting God is the best thing I can do. Because He knows the future and will bring about what is best. God will lead and guide me through the fog even if it’s just one step at a time, even if I can’t see ahead. Your words are inspiring and I see your faithfulness and trust, and as you said, “Thanks be to God!”

Blessings to you! I’m your neighbor at #FiveMinuteFriday.

  2. You made it to the link up!!!! I get crazy busy life and I can totally relate to your post Once again, we write in a similar vein…it’s been a while 🙂

this: “And even in the midst of the fog, I am doing my best to trust in my future; to trust in what God has in store for me”

btw, I’ll be linking up at my new blog this week. Look for a thumbnail of a slide 🙂 I’ve been stalked by people at our former church. I’d been thinking about doing something different anyway, so it’s not as terrible as it sounds, lol…you’ll be able to read more about it there as the blog develops 🙂

  3. Holding you in prayer, friend. Grateful you recognize a little light peaking through. God’s plan is unfolding in ways we don’t expect. I’m thinking about you daily. Your courage and faithfulness is admirable. xoxo #fmf

  4. I’ve been at that point of the road many times too. It’s easier to stay in the fog than search for the light sometimes. You are amazing, friend!

  5. It’s not easy to be stuck in the fog, struggling to see the way ahead, but I’m glad you can see a glimmer of light, and I love that you’re choosing to trust God. It is reassuring to know that he sees the way ahead even when we can’t.

  6. The future does look a lot like fog at times doesn’t it? I have been praying for you as you seek your what’s next. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you. Love you!
