Deciding to Say Yes

Im linking up for the Five Minute Friday. Today’s prompt is “Decide.” Write for five minutes; unedited.

Life is full of decisions. We have to decide about all sorts of things. We have to decide what to eat, what to wear, who to date, etc. We have to decide if we are going to exercise or not.

I chuckled when I saw todays prompt because when my now boyfriend asked me out I decided to say no. There were many reasons: the age difference being the biggest one. But then God nudged me and I decided to say yes. I haven’t looked back. He makes me so incredibly happy.

This decision is one I am glad I decided to make. Sometimes we just need that little nudge from God. If you read my post from the other day, you know I’ve decided to shift my prayers from Psalm 13:1 to Psalm 13:5-6. All because I finally decided to say yes.

  1. My wife and I had met online,
    and affection grew space
until she felt it was high time
that we met face to face,
and so one day she took a flight
    to where I was employed,
and I guess she had the right
    to be less than overjoyed
when at the airport I arrived
in surfer shorts and flowered shirt
    looking like I just survived
    a Jimmy Buffett concert
and her mood was not improved
by my joyous shout of ‘Dude!’

    But she did marry me.

  2. Love it when God nudges and changes our decision! I’ve been there and done that too! I didn’t like my now husband at first, but a year later I was head over heels and haven’t looked back in 21 years of love! It’s not easy, but it’s worth it! So glad you are happy with your new man!
