Congrats My Dear Friend!

Happy Sunday everyone! I have a lot of stuff Im thinking about today. Mostly reminiscing about life at seminary and the friends I made there. Just got done reading a post about my good friend Mark’s ordination yesterday. I even got to see some pictures which brought tears to my eyes. I so wish I could have been there but am glad that it was so well attended. I believe that is a true testament of who you are as a person! Congratulations Pastor Mark! THe post also got me thinking about how frustrating and difficult the call process can be. I remember how frustrated I was waiting to find a call etc and it is hard to see friends in that same position. I know I can tell them things etc but that isnt always reassuring. I have to agree with Mark though when he said that the amount of time it takes to receive a call is not characteristic of the quality of that persons gifts etc…something along those lines. That is so true! SKDO, you are such a dear friend and have so many awesome gifts for ministry. I know that in due time, you will get a wonderful call and will be such a blessing to the people of the congregation you serve. Sometimes I just wish I could speed up the process for you! You all have been such a blessing to me and I want you to know that I hold these friendships closely and dearly to my heart. Guess thats it for now. Congrats again Mark and please forgive me for not being able to make it there.

  1. hey! don’t even worry about not being able to make it. i know you wanted to come, and it would have been great to have you there, but things happen and we can’t always do all the things we want to do. i know you were there in spirit and prayer, and that means a lot to me, too!

  2. Hey! Thanks for commenting on my blog! I can completely understand why the seminary has such a fond place in your heart. I’ve only been there a few times and I already love it. So, if you wouldn’t mind telling me, why did they always show your dorm room? What does it take to be the showcase dorm room? Because I was totally impressed with the room I saw. I went to the conference on ministry in November 2004, but I didn’t have the foresight to visit the residence hall, so I didn’t get to see them then… Except for the ping pong room, and then the students invited us to come watch a movie with them. That would have been cool to meet you. You never know though, we could cross paths in the future. It’s a small world, ya know?

  3. Thanks for answering my questions! Maybe we did meet, but for some reason, I’m not recalling you. I think I’ve seen your picture before, and you didn’t look familiar… Then again, I did meet about a zillion new people that weekend, so who knows? The only things I remember from the coffee house in ’04 were the blonde haired guy who did most of the segway work with introducing “acts” and what not, and also the band that sang “You give me fever” and they made up their own lyrics about a professor or two. 🙂 haha. Were you involved in the small groups that we were all broken into, as well? I remember our group had Kim S. and Mark G. as our leaders. Hmm. See ya later.

  4. Hmm. Shane K… I met a Shane there once, but it was when WTS hosted the Hein Fry Lecture series with the current presiding bishop and the 2 previous ELCA bishops… But, I don’t remember any Shanes from Nov. ’04. That whole weekend was a huge flurry of activity though, so don’t take it personally that I am not able to place you! 🙂 Thanks for trying to jog my memory.
