I am linking up for the Five Minute Friday. The FMF is hosted by Kate Motaung over at our Five Minute Friday website. This week’s word prompt is “back.” We would love to have you join us.
New notebooks, backpacks, glue, folders, Crayons everywhere. It must be the end of summer and back to school time. My sister: a teacher is back in the classroom already. Actually today they’ve already put in two weeks. Some schools I realize don’t start until after Labor Day but not here.
This time of year always make me nostalgic for all those awesome summer trips and summer adventures I took. Arizona, Colorado, Texas, ND State Fair and all those Thursday nights at Summer Nights on Main. I’m ready for Fall as I love all the seasons. But I must admit I wish the seasons didn’t go so fast. I want to go back and dwell in these adventures a little longer.
The air is cooler now which means cozy headed sweatshirts. Pumpkin spice is back at Starbucks. August only has a few days left. And then September (and my birthday) are back for yet another year. Where does the time go?
Oh, I’m so ready for cooler weather and pumpkin spice. 😉 Memories of school days many years ago. Thank you for the walk down memory lane. Your FMF neighbor.
Me too!
I love the fall. ONly problem is I live too far south. haha
Yeah!
My grandma used to tell me that the older you get, the faster time goes. Of course back then I probably rolled my eyes but NOW!!!! Oh my goodness, she was 100% right! Seasons come, season go. Birthdays come and birthdays go. Now I’m 60 what??? and my children are in their 30’s! Yes, I too would like to linger at little longer before moving on! Enjoyed this post Tara!
It seems that way! Thanks! Glad you enjoyed my post.
I can relate, I always wish for the seasons to linger a bit longer. We still have another two weeks of summer break here, thank goodness! Enjoy Tuesday, birthday twin! 🙂
Hope you had a great birthday too, birthday twin!
Good morning Tara, I join you in the nostalgia of Fall. Wishing you an early happy birthday I wrote a poem for FMF this week 🙂
Thanks!
I agree, the time seems to fly! I’m glad you have some good summer memories!
Thanks!
Happy back to school season! Hope it is a great year! And those birthdays do come back quickly, don’t they??
Yes they do!
Time does fly so quickly these days! Is it because we’re so busy, or is it because we’re getting older? I’ll go with the busy! LOL! Sounds as if you’ve made some good summer memories. Enjoy your birthday!
Thanks! I did make some good summer memories. And I had a great birthday too!
Where does the bloody time go,
and can’t it slow back down?
Life feels like a rodeo,
and I feel like the clown.
Just yesterday, or so it seems,
I was a hooligan in school,
with mayhem and my lofty dreams,
and I thought that I was cool.
Apparently I have not changed
though everyone’s got older,
my priorities weren’t re-arranged;
my pursuit of them is bolder.
They say that I have not matured;
I stayed seventeen, and endured.
You always write such thoughtful poetry friend!
Oooh… PSL… I always seem to try to force myself to wait until it is actually October –but really? Why? Why do I torture myself like that? 😉
Yes why torture yourself like that!
I was thinking of back to school too but took a different turn. There’s so much ritual attached to fall but rituals can be comforting. They remind us of where we have been and where we are going.
Yes true!
