I am linking up for Five Minute Friday. The FMF is hosted by Kate Motaung on her blog Heading Home. Today’s prompt is “enjoy.” I finally made it to the party last night. It was so good. I’ve missed my people the last several weeks. I need to get back into a routine! Love you all! We’d love to have you join us. Just hop onto Twitter on Thursday evenings and follow the #fmfparty. Hope to see you there!
Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week already which also means Advent is soon around the corner? I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for Advent. I am in need of the hope that is born in this precious Christ child. I have to admit I have even broken my own rule and already started listening to Christmas music. (Sorry not sorry!)
I love Advent and taking the time to pause and enjoy the true meaning of the season. I enjoy listening to the lyrics in the words of Christmas hymns and letting them sink into my heart and head especially Go Fish’s More than a Story. I enjoy taking the time to celebrate and spend time with those I love.
Besides Advent, there are so many things I enjoy doing. I enjoy writing. I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I enjoy Starbucks Peppermint Mochas. I enjoy cinnamon gummy bears. I enjoy reading and books. I enjoy hot tea. I enjoy curling up when the winter wind is here and the snow is beginning to fall. I enjoy the prairies of North Dakota. What do you enjoy? Friends, would love to hear what you enjoy!
Tara, I have already started listening to Christmas music on Pandora – first time I have ever done this before Txgvg. Are we all desperate to celebrate our Jesus? Our blessed Redeemer?
I think you are right. Many of us are in desperate need to celebrate our Jesus; our blessed Redeemer!
I enjoy a lot of the same things you enjoy, Tara! Peppermint Mocha is my favorite! Don't care much for gummy bears, but the rest of your list is great! Blessings to you! I'm glad I'm your neighbor this week at #FiveMinuteFriday.
Gayl, I would love to sit and sip a peppermint mocha with you. Blessings to you too friend.
I enjoy Advent, too! I can't wait!! Just wrote a post about it on my blog, too 🙂
Love that!
Oh man… I am enjoying Starbucks too – but you already know that! #Daily I am feeling like I need to get out my Christmas music… maybe even decorate next weekend –after binge watching the new Gilmore Girls, of course!
Of course, you are enjoying Starbucks too.
Yes, that pause in the Advent darkness is something I'm learning to look forward to each season. That respite in the loud busyness. Thank you for this!
Me too, Annie, me too! And you are welcome.
Cinnamon gummie bears? Oh, yummers! We are called to enjoy this life, aren't we? Thank you for sharing all the things that bring you delight. I love your list! I bet the snow is amazing there. (hugs)
My absolute fave, Christina! Yes we are indeed called to enjoy this life. I am glad you like my list. The snow is amazing here, but it gets really cold! Hugs back to you!
love advent too. The anticipation of the coming savior, there is not much better than that! While I haven't turned on the Christmas music yet, I'm getting ready to do so!
I love that you love Advent too.
I've usually started listening to Christmas music by now, mostly to prepare for our worship services but this year, I'm lagging. You've given me the nudge. Enjoy your peppermint mocha!
I am glad I gave you the nudge. I am enjoying my Christmas music immensely!
Tara, I started listening to Christmas music too! I think my heart is telling me it's ready to find ways to slow down and focus on Jesus during the Advent season.
Great post!
I love that, Jeanne!
I really enjoy Advent! I even enjoy it more than Christmas itself. I've struggled most of my life with enjoying Christmas so when I began to celebrate Advent a few years ago I felt like I was onto something for my soul! I realized a lot and i mean a LOT of my dislike of Christmas is that it is a "commercial holiday" where there is the stress of buying the perfect gift, finding the money, hoping everyone is satisfied, having teens who think they should get new phones and other insane things that I can't possibly afford etc, its stress and I end up wanting to make everyone's Christmas good which tends to ruin it for me, where Advent is as expensive as buying some candles or as cheap as simply reading specific scriptures each day. The only Advent "pressure" is the Advent calendars, and you know what? I totally enjoy buying myself a Lindt one each year and enjoying my piece of chocolate each day with my tea! LOL
Marisa, I am so glad you enjoy Advent. You are right Christmas has become a commercial holiday, but that is not what it is about at all. Advent helps us refocus on the true meaning of this season. Enjoy your chocolate Advent calendar! 🙂
It is scary that it's nearly Advent already! But it is a great time to pause and reflect. The peppermint mocha sounds good! I don't think Starbucks do them here.
Lesley, it is coming so fast. Peppermint Mocha at this time of the year is my absolute fave. I thought they were world wide at Starbucks but maybe not.
I have not started listening to Christmas music but it is one of my favorite genres. I enjoy family, walking, God's beauty and the list goes on. Thank you for sharing "you" today.
Mary, Christmas music is one of my fave genres too. Aww thanks friend!
I enjoy "coffee Fridays" with my daughters (a tradition from high school), even if we have them on whatever day of the week we happen to be together! I also enjoy having everyone home this week (even though I don't get much done on the blogging front 😉 ).
That is such a great idea! Love it!
