I am linking up for the Five Minute Friday. The FMF is hosted by Kate Motaung over at our Five Minute Friday website. Today’s word prompt is “adapt.” We would love to have you join us.
It’s actually starting off feel like Spring here which means lots more time outside and shorts and swimsuit weather. I’ve always been a great eater with a tendency to also have a sweet tooth.
I have done a pretty great job adapting to a new lifestyle. I’m trying to get into more of a routine of doing my BeachBody Country Heat workouts. I am drinking more water. In addition, I’m always trying to make healthier choices with meals.
Sometimes I’ve fallen off the bandwagon. I would rather lay on the couch and watch tv during the winter months. It’s a dance we all play at one time or another.
A few weeks ago, I went for my yearly physical. My tryglecerides were high which they’ve always been. But my sugars were high too. Not in a dangerous zone but verging too close to that diabetic line. So I’ve been doing my very best to adapt. Do you know how much sugar there is in our food? Lots!! Fruit has good sugars so I’m trying to eat more fruit.
So my friends, in an attempt to be a healthier child of God, I must adapt…will you join me?
I hear you about falling off the bandwagon! Iām two months postpartum and realizing I have to stop eating all the things! Ha! Still working on adapting!
The struggle is real! I imagine postpartum is even harder. I wouldn’t know since I have never carried a child. Blessings to you as you adapt!
Watch the fruit, Tara, don’t overdo the fruit. xo
I know! I know! But my doctor said fruit is the better of the evils. xoxo
Right there with you, for sure. I’m back on Weight Watchers (and I know there are many ways to achieve the “healthy” goal). Sending you lots of support – if you need an accountability buddy don’t hesitate to let me know.
The struggle is real. So glad that I am not alone. Sending you lots of support too. And I would love to be accountability buddies!
Oh my, it’s a constant battle. I’m right there on the struggle bus with you!
The struggle is indeed real!
It’s a constant battle for me, too! I inherited high cholesterol from my dad, so even though I’m a lacto-ovo vegetarian and rarely eat eggs or dairy products, I have high numbers. Grr.
The struggle is so real! Glad to know I am not alone.
yuuuuup…. winter makes it hard. One step at a time though! And hopefully you’re having some beautiful weather now. It makes getting outside a little bit easier. š
Winter does make it so hard. One step at a time indeed! The weather is gorgeous right now. It does make getting outside much easier.
Good for you, Tara. I have a sweet tooth as well so I know what you mean. Balance, moderation – those are my mantras.
I am glad to know that I am not alone. Sweet tooth lovers unite! š Balance and moderation are two good mantras to have.
Yes! May is a reset month for us – after winter and tax season most healthy habits have fallen to the wayside. Here’s to spring and health and adapting our minds and bodies to summertime!
Yes and Amen!
I’m definitely with you on trying to adapt. Healthy eating and exercise are two things I’ve been trying to focus on more this year!
I am trying to focus on those two things too.
